Investment Professional.
Business Owner.
Your CFO.
Most fractional CFOs come from accounting or consulting.
I come from investment management and the owner’s seat.

Max Holvik, CFA
CFA Charterholder | MBA, IESE Business School
I spent more than 15 years as an investment professional, including in senior roles at Barclays Capital, Mellon Capital Management, and Private Ocean Wealth Management, a high-net-worth RIA where I became a partner. Working inside an RIA gave me firsthand insight into how wealth management firms operate, make decisions, and where the financial complexity quietly builds up.
Beyond my investment career, I sourced, negotiated, structured, and raised the capital to acquire a business, then stepped in as owner and CEO for nearly five years. I wore the CFO hat myself, building out the finance capabilities, streamlining accounting functions, and navigating growth phases, operational complexity, and difficult financial conditions. I know firsthand what it feels like to make high-stakes decisions without the right financial infrastructure behind you.
That experience is what I bring to wealth management firms today. Not just analytical firepower, but the judgment that only comes from having run a business yourself.
